Sarah started running creative craft and upcycling workshops six years ago in response to a growing demand for hands on tuition in basic upcycling skills.
As sustainable design has become more mainstream, Sarah discovered a growing audience wanting to create beautiful furniture and accessories for their home using salvaged / preloved items.
Starting with the basics of applying decoupage on vintage side sidetables, workshop attendees were hungry to continue learning new skills from Sarah, leading to the introduction of new workshops all over the UK.
From specialist paint techniques and raised stencilling, to applying gold leaf and metallic foils, the repertoire of skills shared continues to grow! A brand new Mindful Marbling in Ceramics class is being introduced in 2024.
Relaxation & mindfulness
Sarah was among the first designers to recognise and talk openly about the benefits of creative activity on mental health and wellbeing.
On launching her fledgling business in 2017, she penned a blog called “Diary of an Upcyclatherapist” explaining her decision to leave a successful career in PR, to refocus on furniture artistry.
Sarah’s workshops are both instructive and nurturing. At their core is a pursuit of relaxation and respite from the pressures and anxieties of day-to-day living. They are inclusive, light-hearted and joyful!
