Story of an amp. Pair of….🎸

Last summer, I was contacted by the lovely Jan @sixtysixtysounds in London about a commission. Well several 🤩

It was the start of an interesting collaboration. A fusion of young musicians in the heart of Denmark Street, the heartland of rock music, and me.

I spent some time last Sunday with @jansmosarski and @mayahobballah snapping the amps in the shop, and chatting about projects going forward.

It’s interesting, because Jan is young enough to be my son, and the exquisite Maya is young enough to be my granddaughter 🤣🧐 but yet oddly, we’ve connected. Via this app. That’s the beauty of social media!

Lots of work to be done together in 2023. Feeling so happy to be invited to work with young, enthusiastic creatives. Keeps my work interesting and diverse!

I’ve been lower key on social media of late, friends, because I’m making changes to the way I work. I felt it was better to say less than more during the transition. I’m still doing workshops (a lot!) and I’m still taking commissions, but I’m focusing on moving my work forward. But yet silence sounds so loud on here!!

Well… what a joy it was to be invited to transform this panelled bar in the deliciousness that is @sallydoessassy maximalist Yorkshire home💪🏾🤩

Not gonna lie… it took a while 🤪Most of Monday… but what a striking and glamorous result using my Burnished Copper Metallic Skinzz!

Patience is the key to successful application! As I say to my workshop attendees: “it’s baking not cooking, kids. Follow every instruction to the letter, and IT WILL NOT GO WRONG” 🧐🤣

Alternatively, ask me to do it for you 🤩💪🏾

As for Sally’s glamorous home bar space: SOoooooo EXTRA 🫶🏽🍹😍😍😍… and now just a smidgen sexier with the pimped up bar panels…😜

* For Sale * A rare little Mid Century curved cocktail cabinet made by Validity of London, which from Friday will be displayed @department_manchester - a fabulous new lifestyle shop in Chorlton, Manchester.

I’ve retained the walnut veneer, adding classic black stripes contrasted with distressed gold leaf.

The dated melamine top has made way for an elegant sun ray design using my metallic skin in Aged Gold, with gold leaf trim. Looks like a shimmering marquetry effect! Luxe!

Electric light safety checked, with extra long cable.

Black mineral paint internally & externally using @buntyspaints Total Eclipse from Jen @thirteen_furniture
